 Step 3: Creating an “about me” section

Incorporating a section on your website that highlights your personal interests and background can humanize your brand and enhance relatability. This approach fosters a genuine connection with viewers, particularly if they share similar interests and values. In this section, you may want to include images of your hobbies and passions, along with narratives that convey their significance in your life. Check out my More About Me section to see how I implemented my personal hobbies into my website!

Personal websites serve as an effective platform to showcase both your professional accomplishments and your personality. Integrating personal elements can differentiate your brand and enhance its memorability.

Step 1: What is your jam?

Defining your unique interests involves cultivating your passions, hobbies, skills, and inspirations. For instance, I drew inspiration from my love for Mount Baker to shape various elements of my website and personal brand. Your unique interests can encompass places, people, industries, or experiences that resonate with you, all of which can be effectively translated into the design and content of your website. Incorporating distinctive elements of your personality can enhance the relatability and memorability of your website.

Step 2: Implementation of your jam into your brand elements

Once you have defined your unique interests, you can begin brainstorming;

  • colors

  • fonts

  • logos

  • taglines

  • graphics

that you wish to incorporate into your website. For example, I reflected this process in my website's graphics and tagline. I chose the tagline "Elevate Your Brand", inspired by the high elevation of Mount Baker. This tagline not only aligns with my personal brand's value proposition but also resonates with my personality. I chose to feature my tagline prominently in the header of my website pages, accompanied by an image of Mount Baker in the background.  View my Home Page to see!

Developing a personal website can be a challenging endeavor. It requires careful consideration of what potential visitors seek to learn about you and how to create a digital presence that accurately represents your professional identity. When faced with the blank canvas of a WebFlow screen, I found myself grappling with the task of showcasing my professional achievements while simultaneously conveying my personality and individual essence.

As a marketing professional, I deeply appreciate the opportunity our field provides to connect with people and add value to their lives. I sought to create a website that seamlessly integrated my professional expertise with my personal attributes. To achieve this balance, I implemented several strategies that effectively portrayed both my professional experience and individual character

The following are key approaches I utilized in developing a website that serves as a comprehensive representation of my professional and personal self.
